First timer

I took Sophie on a run this morning.  It’s not her first time running, but the first that’s timed with the Forerunner 305 GPS watch.  During the run she said “daddy, I don’t have a watch like you”.  So I told her when I can afford the next model, she can wear this one.  Here are the stats: 0.39 miles at her own pace of 21:52 min/mile (Not bad considering almost half was uphill!) In a couple of years, she might win her division at the upcoming Wharf to Wharf (www.wharftowharf.com).

Sunset Celebration Weekend

Cindy and I went to the Sunset Celebration Weekend and made some lei.

Made one for Sophie too!

Largemouth bass

I took Sophie fishing at Foothills Park (my old hangout) and she was very excited when we caught our first fish, a largemouth that’s >12 inches!  Cleaning it out was a pain, but it was tasty after putting it on the grill.Sophie's first catch

View from across the bridge

This is my territory and the view of San Francisco (left) and Golden Gate Bridge on my way home. Who can complain?

Reconnect

One of the cool things about business travel is the opportunity to get out of the hotel and see some old friends.  I met up with Lindsay, whom I have not seen in ages!  Now she’s got a lovely husband Jonathan and and adorable daughter Avery.  She took me on a run in her neighborhood up some trails to see some breathtaking views of Phoenix, then treated me to an awesome home cooked meal.AZ view
